Starting a blog gives me the opportunity to do something which I have been dying to do and have been missing for quite sometime now, which is to express my feeling about my current state in life. Well, I just want to express what I have inside my heart through writing although I had only a few experiences (like being a writer in my highschool's paper and of course the lengthy essays from school).
As you know, I am in my early 30s with so much ambition and yet feels the urgency to get my life going. I have been to 3 jobs already with 3 university degrees in a span of 12 years but never had the felt the satisfaction that I have been wanting for. This is due partly for the desire to make good in life financially, which is basically waht every person in life wants. But for my part, this is really a big deal for me because my country were I came from has a vast majority of people living below the poverty line with more than 70% of the country's resources belonging to almost 30% of the population.
What I can say that with the situation in my country, there's the never-ending and seemingly eternal struggle to stay sane amidst the difficulties that the nation is facing. I for my part wants to be able to "survive" and sail through life's obstacles. To be able to do so, I must do something to improve my quality and my state of life.
Taking up nursing in a university was part of the plan since most of us see nurses as pots of gold with the potential income that they will be earning from working overseas. Well, I am almost seeing my dreams came through since I am already a registered nurse. But I am facing this malady since there are so many nurses in the country now who are stuck with the reality that there are not enough jobs for professionals like them here. Unfortunately, I am one of them. I still have to get a certain amount of experience in a hospital to realize my dream to work overseas. Then also, there is this seemingly big block of the nurses' dreams of working in their ultimate foreign workplace, the United States. The US is temporarily ceasing for the moment the granting of additional working visas for foreign nurses which led for most of the nurses to find work elsewhere. But to look for another country entails financial sacrifices. Families even spent millions of pesos just to "make" a nurse in the family and having him/her work in another country. All I can say is that it is out of my hands now but I am determine to make good financially, if God willing.
